Great show last Friday at Chameleons in Pittsfield,  MA at the Eagle Santa Toy Fund benefit for kids. Produced by legendary Rebel Sound Records,  the show featured DBL along with a couple of great punk bands,  Refuse Resist and The Damaged.

In other benefit news,  however, our once-postponed benefit performance for WBCR-FM Community Radio in Great Barrington,  MA,  has been postponed again;  stay tuned for a new date some time in the future.

And in the meantime,  start planning your Saturday night in NYC for January 28th,  when DBL makes its triumphant return to the Big Apple for the first time in over a year…  don’t miss it!

Our show at the Route 7 Grill tonight is cancelled due to flooding!  Thanks to Hurricane Irene and the subsequent heavy rains of the past week,  the venue is sitting in the middle of a lake at this point,  pretty much underwater… our thoughts and hopes for the best go out to the owners of the R7G!

Great show at the Gypsy Joynt in Great Barrington,  MA,  last Saturday.  Video from the performance is up now on our Facebook page; check it out!  Coming up this weekend,  we’ll have a show Friday evening with Tom Ingersoll at the Route 7 Grill in Great Barrington (weather permitting…it’s an outdoor venue),  and we’ll be following that up with another performance Saturday night at the Mission Bar in Pittsfield,  MA with noumenon.  Hope to see you there!

Big news today:  Deafened By Love has a new drummer!  It was with great regret that we bid adieu to Brian “Animal”  Chebatoris, who provided crazy exuberance for the band for the past year,  until his recent departure for the coast. But we’re extremely pleased to have found the most excellent Dave Serafini,  who brings a great attitude,  a definite creative streak,  and first-class chops to DBL’s rhythm section.  Welcome Dave!

This coming Saturday evening you’ll have the opportunity to hear Dave in action with the band at the Gypsy Joynt in Great Barrington,  MA. Noted for a consistently exceptional music lineup,  as well as good food and a great atmosphere,  it’s an excellent venue and we’re looking forward to rocking the Joynt!

Welcome to Deafened By Love’s new website!  We’ll be posting more news about shows, happenings with the band, etc.,  as time goes on. Today’s news is about tomorrow’s show at the “Christmas for Children”  benefit at the Risingdale Cafe in Housatonic, MA. In advance of Hurricane Irene,  which is supposed to hit the east coast sometime late that evening, the Saturday forecast is for afternoon showers, or maybe even real rain. But fear not! Candy Kiral,  who’s promoting this event, just posted that the bands will be set up inside,  and there will be tents outside for the many benefit-related activities going on.

There’ll be food,  games, etc.,  fun for the whole family,  and some great bands,  with the Whitehouse Staff kicking things off around 1pm, Deafened By Love following them sometime between 3 and 3:30,  and then Spurs around 5:30 and Fire Pitt going on at 6:30 to bring the day home. Should be lots of fun,  so come on down if you’re in the area!
